Vacation Time

I been gone on vacation 'cause my computer was in the shop since right after my last entry. I have learned a new pattern called the French Braid. Don't have any pics to post 'cause the one I had was on the other ocmputer and I forgot to get it off. Go figure. I promise to get some new pics up soon.

Never did figure out what happened with Scrappy. They banned me when I decided to leave and stand by my best friend. I'd rather have my friend than a bunch of know- it - all witches that don't have anything better to do than try and tear down someone who's not in a position to fight back at the moment. My friend wasn't in a position to fight back when they attacked her and they hurt her badly. I stand by her. She is my bestest friend. She knows who she is.

More Basketweave

Here are two more basketweave quilt tops that I have made. I think they are pretty nice if you ask me.

More Basket Weave

Well, I've done another basketweave and I think it is the best yet. It is shades of pink with red and black. Everytime I think I have outdone myself I come up with one that I think is even better. Such is the case with this one. These three colors were just calling to be done together and they turned out so perfect.

In other news, I was rear-ended Saturday afternoon and it damaged the bumper of my car to the point of needing replaced. Fortunately the damage didn't go beyond that state. And I wasn't hurt other than a slight headache. The car is at the repair shop already and I am waiting on a rental to have something to drive wihle it is getting repaired. Hopefully it won't take long to repair it.

It is Thursday which means it is Friday!

Every Thursday those of us that are in college are really happy 'cause it means we have 3 days off from school so we celebrate it as a Friday. Hey, it works for us so big deal.

I don't have any pics today .. am not done with the new design. Will get a post up soonest with the pics. Probably sometime today. Am working on getting those strips closer together. Started with 2" strips and so far that seems to be working okay. I wonder if myabe I should be using black or a dark gray though.it looks good with white center and red, white, and blue strips but something is missing.

Enough rambling for now. May post again later today.

POW time

This is my most recent Linus top. I call it POW! 'cause it started out having POW when you look at it. Made a mistake and got 2 blocks backwards and wasn't about to frogg the entire thing to fix it so just left it. Next one will get better.

Yet Another Basketweave

I have finished yet another basketweave quilt top. Here are pictures of all the ones I have done to date.

Now all I need to do is figure out how to put them in the middle of the text. Do that and I'll be good to go. If anyone that reads this blog would post on how to do it I sure would appreciate it.

Long Time No See

It has been a long time since I posted on here. A LOT has happened since I did. Foe one, I decided NOT to do the contest quilt. Things just got in the way and I was too nervous about it. maybe next time I'll enter one in a contest. I do like the design that I chose for it though. I think I'll put together a quilt using that design and see what happens.

So much has happened since I wrote last. Almost lost my bestest friend 'cause I believed a liar over her. She has forgiven me for it and said she understands how I got caught up in the mess. I felt so badabout it that it isn't funny. As of yesterday her and I will no longer discuss what happened and who started it 'cause we are tired of the person living rent free in our heads. We want our life back.

My quilting is coming along. I am going to try and post a pic of my most recent quilt. It is in a design that I have long wanted to do but couldn't find the right pattern and one day I did a google search and not only did I find the pattern but it was published by Project Linus. In case you are wondering or I didn't mention it before, Project Linus is who I do just about all my quilting for. I do do some other quilting but the majority is for Project Linus.

I am done here. Let me post this so I can find where to add pics. I'll try and not be such a stranger now.

A Better Day

Sorry about the "bad" blog the other day. Needless to say I was in sad shape. I finally hit bottom and had a minor meltdown that night and spent yesterday climbing back up. It is early this morning but i can already tell it is gonna be a good day. I am understandably tired (it is only 0546 hrs) but other than that I am doing pretty good.

I started a batik strippy last night out of 6 fat quarters that someone gave me and it is going to look good (I hope). Just got the pieces cut out last night and will sew them all together this morning after I wake up again. I can just about make a king size strippy in one day so it own't take me long at all to make this one. I have 24 22" long strips to sew and that won't take long at all. I hope to get some pictures posted soon. Even a picture of me up.

Only reason I am up at the moment is 'cause I have a 15 year old son that has to go to school. As soon as he leaves I will be able to crawl back in the bed. I wasn't gonna take my morning meds yet since I plan on going back to bed but I might have to if I keep hurting this much. Son is supposed to leave in about 10 minuets so I am gonna try and hold off. If I can hold off then I'll have the dosage to work when I get up. I am short on some of my pain meds so I have to stretch them out as I can. That isn't always easy. I need to have a talk with the doc and see what we can do about something stronger.

Son is gone so I am outa here. Be back laterz.

It's a blah day

I have been up and I have been down today. I have been too cold and I have been too hot. Right now I am too cold. I have felt bad and I have felt worse. Right now I am somewhere in between. I have been unable to really concentrate on anything that I've started. It doesn't help that I suffer from depression and have been in a downslump for the last several days.

Quilting has been my outlet for the last couple of years since I started. If I can get myself into quilting on something then I can usually get through the slump and downness and start clawing my way back up again. It doesn't always work. Am having trouble with pain today and I worry about writing this and posting it where people can see but I look at it simply. Simply put: if by reading about my pain and troubles can help someone get through their's then I'll count it worth it.

I am gonna go downstairs and catch up on some of my tv watching. I am several hours behind and want to try and get caught up. That may not work and I may have to retreat back to my sewing room but only time will tell. Before I go down though I am gonna put some long pants on to warm up my legs.

I did manage to get some triangles cut today without too much trouble. Maybe if I start working with them it will get better. I really like the one color I have.

Can't/won't talk much about it cause it is gonna be part of my contest quilt and I don't want ANYONE to know what it is gonna look like until it is done. I let people know what the last one was gonna look like and when it came time to start seweing the pieces together I just couldn't make it work right. So this time I am gonna keep it a secret. I am not even gonna tell my long armer until he gets it what it looks like. I know, I know, I am being silly about it but it is my very first contest quilt and I want it to be just right.

First Entry on 17 Sep 2010

Well, I have done it. Here is my blog. I don't have any pics ready to post at the moment but I will get some up. I hope I get some readers and I hope i can keep 'em coming back to here to read. I am gonna use this as a place to put pics of my quilts as I work on them and when they are done.

I might even use this to bitch and moan about various things in my life ... such as how much pain I am in at the moment.

Time will tell.
